This is an incredible pour-over coffee maker. I wish it could wet the paper filter first, but it’s still really high-tech. I like how it sprays water evenly. The customization options are great. I wish it could go up to 212 F, but this machine can only go up to 203 F. I still highly recommend it and believe it’s the best one out there!

I waited a full 9 months out of college to buy the “right” coffee machine. It needed to be versatile, and make high quality brews at guilt-free low cost per cup. The good news is I found it, but on the other hand, I’ve become something of a coffee snob ever since. In minutes I can make the same quality pour-over of a nice cafe cup with just a few button presses. Even with Starbucks beans and xBloom filters, a cup of coffee comes out to under 50 cents, making this a worthwhile investment. Overall I’m very impressed and will update the review should anything change.

This is the best home appliance that I’ve bought in years, perhaps since my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. It makes excellent pour-over coffee in the most entertaining manner possible! This is my opinion only after a few days, so I can’t speak to durability, but it is incredibly functional and, bottom line, makes great coffee. I have two long-term concerns that could be addressed in the future. First, it would be nice to access grinder internals for cleaning. Second, and this would be difficult to solve, there are a lot of moving parts that might fail in future. Otherwise, this is too notch!

As an avid pourover fan, I've long wanted a way to precisely automate the process to get a consistent cup.
Having the ability to use the exact recipes from the roaster is a big deal. The ability to adjust the recipes and dial in gives you full control of the process, but without the variance that hand pouring causes.
The grinder alone is worth the price, especially with the variable RPM. Scale is easy to use. Plumbing in allows you to have a large reservoir of treated water.
App is evolving and works well during the brew. Auto-mode is a killer added feature that let's you use three recipes directly via the machine without needing the app.
Amazing tech and a big step forward for getting a great cup of coffee at home.

It took me a good while to truly explore all of the things that can be done with this coffee maker. However, it was pretty easy to set it up and start making coffee right from the start. I just didn't know exactly what I was making! In many ways, I still don't.

This is a professional grade machine and it has features that do things I am still learning about. I understand the grind "size" for the grinder mode but I don't fully understand what the pour patterns and other features "do" to my coffee - but I am having a great time testing them out and tasting different recipes that do things I didn't know made a difference.

Someone with more coffee knowledge would probably not have the learning curve that I do, and is likely the intended market for this super fancy machine.

It makes GREAT coffee and the app and the NFC recipe "card" are really neat! It saves a lot of button pushing to get your coffee to brew with these.

There are numerous helpful YouTube videos out there that you may want to watch if either considering the purchase or while you wait for it to be delivered.

This is an investment, but from what I can tell this is as good a deal as you can get anywhere, with shipping quick and from the USA.

I spent about two months reading all of the reviews for the Xbloom Studio and even joined the dedicated Discord group to read about potential issues. The machine is really fantastic and more consistent than using my Hario V60 with Fellow kettle. It is definately worth $499. This machine is great for beginners and advanced users. There is very little learning curve to get a great cup of coffee. I've read someone posting about water temperature, but they did not mention what settings they were using as you can set the machine to 203 F for water. The company and other experts on Youtube pointed out to this reviewer they were taking the water temperature wrong. If your cup of coffee is 150F+ in your cup you should be good to go. You can even pre-heat your cup to ensure there is little to no heat loss.

    Pros:
    - Just a beautiful-looking machine and fun to watch each morning. There is a wow factor when making a cup of coffee for friends and family.
    - Using pods or my own beans, the machine is very consistent.
    - The convenience factor is huge with having kids.
    - My wife would never do a pour-over and this is a huge upgrade for her as she was using a Keurig
    - Lower cost than going with a Fellow Aiden + grinder.
    - Hooking up the machine to a 1-gallon jug of spring water means we can go at least a week without having to fill the machine up with water. The local hardware store sold the 1/4" plastic tubing required for $1.50 for four feet. I just drilled a hole in the jug's lid and a smaller hole in the lid for air pressure. We keep the lid and swap out jugs.
    - Doing single cups throughout the day means no wasted coffee from a batch brew and no thermos to clean out.
    - Scale seems super accurate and is easy to use.

    Cons:
    - Measure to make sure you have enough clearance above to pour in the beans.
    - You are better off buying directly from Xbloom if you want to use the $20 off referral code and also the additional free items they give for their bundles.
    - Only a 1 year warranty in the USA versus 2 years in Europe. My credit card doubles the warranty, but you may consider purchasing an extended warranty on Amazon.
    - Pricey pods. They are $1.50 to $2 each plus shipping. Xbloom typically has sales, but we've found that buying a 1lb of coffee and putting them into centrifuge tubes dosed out to 15g makes it so that we can get the price down to lower than a Keurig pod.
    - Filters are typically $8-10 per 100. Xbloom now sells them on Amazon for $10, including shipping.
    - Pods are typically 15g of coffee and produce around 10 oz of coffee. This is a typical cup, but I'm use to using 18-24g and getting a larger cup. You are able to adjust the recipe to use up to 18g, but beyond that you have to really take the time to adjust settings to ensure the water does not overflow in the dripper.
    - You have to update the machine in order to get "auto-mode" where you can turn on the machine and select from light/medium/dark roast and in two pushes of a button start the machine for using your own beans and not the pod.

The Xbloom is designed for everyone who's into coffee in mind. If you're well versed in the coffee world, then you can geek out all you want. For beginners? The entire process is simplified for you with a card.

The Xbloom comes with a built-in grinder, which does a very good job. I put the grinder up against my personal ZP6. While the flavor clarity is not as high as the ZP6, it still produce a great cup of coffee. The result is still impressive nonetheless.

The machine offers all kinds of controls that you can think of, like grind size, grinding speed, flow rate, agitation, brew ratio, temperature, bloom time, etc. All of which you can access using the Xbloom App, which you can also create your own profiles that tailor to your taste, or dialing in certain beans. So far, the Xbloom does not disappoint.

At the bottom of the drip tray, you'll find a built-in scale, which is quite convenient to use. Although, the scale is a bit awkward to use because of how low it is, and how cramp it is at the bottom. But, considering the value for what I get? I really cannot complain.

Quite literally everything you need to brew a good cup of coffee is all built into the machine.

I bought this Xbloom for my girlfriend, who is not a coffee nerd. She enjoys drinking coffee, not so much making it. I brew my own coffee with a V60, but since we do not live together, the Xbloom is the substitute for my V60 to her. At first, the machine is not at all user-friendly for her. However, I showed her how to use the included 3-pour card recipe, and that simplifies the entire process for her. All she needed to do is to tap the card on top of the machine and press go. A delicious cup of coffee is ready for her in 3 minutes.

I really mean it when I mentioned this machine is for everyone. Whether you're a coffee nerd, or just an average coffee drinker, the Xbloom will provide you with everything you need, and more. For $500, you get an all-in-one set up in an extremely compact package. I highly recommend the Xbloom and hope that this review helps you make your decision.

This machine makes good coffee. The ability to share recipes and dial in coffee makes it amazing. This machine lives on my desk and I use it to make great coffee while I am working. The attention to detail on usability and ease of use is amazing. I have owned this machine since the pre orders shipped so since June.

I give this five stars because the machine is great and their customer service is great. That being said there are a few things that could be better.

1, pour rate goes from 3.0 to 3.5
    M/s not much room here.
    2. Temperature goes to a max of 203 in recipes
    3. Customer service can be slow but is amazing once they get to you.

Again this machine makes great coffee and works well I highly recommend it and do not regret my purchase at all.

I bought the Studio when I got a new job which required a pretty lengthy commute. That meant getting myself and my 2yo ready on weekday mornings to be out the door before 7am. Making pour over coffee by hand was not really an option as it takes ~10min of my attention from start to finish. With this I can easily make coffee for my commute in under a minute. It brews while I put jackets and shoes on a squirmy toddler. We get out the door on time. I get great coffee. It’s a win win.

    Pros:
    - the grinder is great! It’s a legit specialty capable grinder which will pull nuanced notes from good beans.
    - customizable recipes are pretty easy to make and store. I usually use the app but there’s a way to store them on the machine as well.
    - it can replicate 90% of what a human does and in general makes great cups. Is it as good as the best hand pour cups? No, but it is extremely consistent at making great cups.
    - Xbloom has been responsive in making firmware updates to address customer wants (specifically storing recipes on the machine)
    - Xbloom sells coffee from great roasters on thier site and they come with recipe cards which is really excellent if you don’t want to fiddle around. The prices aren’t higher than buying direct either, in my experience.
    - the ability to run a direct water line is AWESOME. I ran an external tank that sits behind the machine and fill about once a week.

    Cons:
    - some people complain about the water temp, but this hasn't been an issue for me.
    - flow rate is a bit slow. I’d like to be able to hit a 5g/s flow rate with a lower fluid velocity.
    - I would like a bit more control over when pours start based on the fluid level in the dripper. Right now it’s only time based.
    - the water reservoir is small at about 3 cups worth. This is pretty easy to address by adding an external water reservoir which is cheap and easy to do.

Overall I’m very happy with my machine over the last 4mo. The grinder has become my main grinder. The water dispenser is very convenient. Most importantly, I can enjoy the coffee I want, at the quality I expect, all while still being a parent to a toddler.

I was gifted an xBloom Studio for Christmas. To say, I'm well-loved is an understatement, but my family and friends know I am a coffee snob. I have two machines plus the xBloom. One machine is a typical grind and pour, the second machine is the pod type. Each of these is good in their way but you are limited as to what you can do. There are no limits to the xBloom Studio. One can use your beans, grind them to your liking, and craft your recipes. You can also purchase xBloom Xpods with signature crafted beans. You can even craft espresso. The xBloom Studio is truly the ultimate coffee machine. Depending on the mood, I will use Stumptown Single Source Costa Rica Montes De Oro or Verve Single Origin Honduras Juan Benitez or their India Kerehaklu Single Origin Espresso for an espresso. The key to functionality is the app. Using the app with the Studio is the best way to perfect your cup of coffee. You can still use the dials on the Studio as they are easy to operate but app is highly recommended.

The xBloom is elegant, stylish, and precise but underneath all of that is a beast of a machine that allows you to customize coffee to your liking and for that, it is the Ultimate coffee machine.
